Communicating Research in the Humanities & Social Sciences Online

These courses offer a supportive and encouraging forum with a range of discussion topics including writing and presentation skills to help you develop wider research skills. The courses are open to all PGRs at Liverpool.

In these courses you will have opportunity to present your research through an online blog or video submission, gain feedback from colleagues on your research communication and experience a peer review process. Through this activity you can:

  • review and share ideas for your project,
  • enjoy the benefits and creativity from feedback from those outside your field of research, who may offer a new angle to your research,
  • learn of the different areas of research in your faculty and how others present their research,
  • gain confidence from finding others who are interested in your research!

Our weekly reminders to help you keep to the schedule, but there is considerable flexibility.

The spread over seven/ten weeks allows you to combine your degree, your other job (where relevant) and join in this networking  forum.

You do not need complete all course components, but as past participants will testify, you will gain most from the course when you can join in relevant opportunities, especially in our blog or video activity.

Online resources: Both courses will be supplemented through specific references to our online resources, which are also open to all PGRs at http://www.liv.ac.uk/pgr-development/further-development/online-resources/.

Webinars: This year the courses will be supplemented by webinars, although attendance is again, optional. The webinars will also be advertised separately, through this blog.
