Would you like to learn about online teaching and development in a paid part-time position?
PGR Development have two opportunities for part time working to support our online programme. Both roles can be undertaken on a flexible basis.
- Assistant Tutor for Online Course (0.1 FTE)
For somebody to help us deliver First Year Development Online. This course is delivered over a ten week period and we require a contribution of half a day per week to start the week of the 20th January. Within this role you would work with the course tutor to develop online discussions, monitor course participation, help advise students to produce a research blog, which represents the primary activity within the course, and present a source for advice and feedback to the participants. Guidance and informal training will be provided and the role offers opportunities to explore teaching ideas within an interactive online environment.
For this role you should be a PhD student in at least your second year. You do not need to be based on campus.

Interviews will be around the 15th-16th January. - PGR Development Assistant (0.2 FTE)
To help support Poster Day Online. We will need help for one day a week for 12 weeks, starting around the 10th Feb 2014, for 12 weeks. In this role you will support administration of the event; to manage the registration process, answer email enquiries, maintain lists of attendance, help administer the judging process and to market the event within the University and externally.

For both roles, experience of participation in an online environment and experience or knowledge of the difficulties faced by part-time or off-site students will be useful. Technical skills are not necessary for either post.
