Worldwide, the number of PhD graduates competing for secure academic positions is increasing every year. It is more important than ever to stand out. Understanding what is required to secure and maintain a successful academic career can help you better position yourself for success.

Future-proof Your Career

23rd Nov 13:30 – 16:30

How can you plan for the future when you don’t know who you’ll be or what you’ll want and need? In this workshop we’ll invite you to reflect on who you are in reference to the workplace, to identify your ‘core values’ and how these may help you make future decisions.

Viva Survivor

Viva Survivor is a session for postgraduate researchers close to submitting their thesis who want to get some ideas on how to be well prepared for their viva. During the session we will consider the purpose of the viva and how one can prepare for it.

Delivering Academic Presentations in the Sciences

This workshop will help you develop the essential presentation skills required to participate in the research community, to gain academic impact for your research and to further your career  as a researcher.
